Buttery, crispy, aromatic and so flavorful! Dressing around the holidays is a seriously comforting treat and this one totally tops the charts! Your family will love it!
INGREDIENTS – serves 4-6
1/2c butter (1 stick)
1/2 onion, diced
2-3 celery stalks, diced
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4t salt
2t sage
1t thyme
1/2t black pepper
4 pieces cornbread, 1″ cubes – try my recipe here!
4 biscuits, 1″ cubes – try my recipe here!
1c broth, room temp
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375°F. Melt butter on medium-med-high in a medium/large skillet, add onions, celery, garlic, salt, sage, thyme and black pepper. Stir to combine then allow to cook for 3-5 minutes.
Meanwhile, cut up the cornbread and biscuits then add them to a large bowl. Pour the butter mixture over the bread cubes with about 1/2c broth. Stir breaking up the bread a little bit, making sure all of the pieces are coated and fairly soaked through with butter and broth. Add more broth as needed to help make sure everything is saturated. Dump into a well greased 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish, spread is out then bake for 30-40 minutes, until crisp and no longer soggy in the middle.
