APPLE BACON GORGONZOLA GRILLED CHEESE

Everyone loves a grilled cheese and this bougie seasonal version does not disappoint! Fresh apple slices and crisp bacon glued together between two buttery slices of sourdough with a mixture of gorgonzola and white cheddar then grilled up until melty and toasty. Wow its so good!

INGREDIENTS

2 slices sourdough bread (or whatever you like)
1T butter, room temp
1t stoneground mustard
1/4c gorgonzola, crumbled
1/3c white cheddar, shredded
1/2 apple, sliced
2-3 slices bacon

INSTRUCTIONS

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread then mustard on the other side and place the butter side down. Mix the gorgonzola and white cheddar together then add about half of the cheese on one slice of the bread. Distribute the apple slices over the cheese followed by the bacon then top with the remaining cheese and other slice of bread.

Bring a skillet to medium heat. Place the sandwich in the pan and cover with a lid (if you don’t have one use a baking sheet) for 5-8 minutes (until golden brown on that side), flip then cook for an other 5-8 minutes with the lid on.

Allow to cool for a minute or two before eating.

ENJOY!
